MIPAV stands for Medical Image Processing, Analysis, and Visualization, which actually describes its functionality. Researchers use MIPAV to extract quantitative information from image datasets of various medical image modalities. The MIPAV application can run on virtually any platform, including Microsoft Windows, Solaris, and the Macintosh Operating System (Mac OS).
